How To Sketch A Car


Sketching a car, although might be somewhat difficult to start if basic required approach and suitable procedures were neglected. Most especially for one who had no pre-knowledge of car sketching. However, one could become an expert car designer, if one could learn the basic car sketching requirement procedures. If you’ve a dream of becoming a car designer or probably, wanted to learn how to sketch a car for personal specific purpose, you don’t need to worry about it as long as you could follow the basic steps that I’m going to show you here, you’ll see how simple it is that you too can do it yourself.

However, there’re so many brand of cars with unique body designing patterns available in the market. Nevertheless, this shouldn’t make you think car sketching a grueling task. Once you’ve learnt the basic sketch pattern, you can equally embark on sketching any form of car.

Four basic steps to sketch a car are as follows:

1. Specific Imagination on Car to Sketch
Gather an idea on perspective view of what a car looks like, example, using a picture of a car would be easier for your guideline and efficient sketching. Gather your drawing tools such as- paper and pencil preferably with eraser. Make a prospective view of the car brand to sketch, such as Mazda, Toyota, and Peugeot; moreover, consider the body features of the car such as Wagon and Saloon.

2. Draw Horizontal/Harallel lines
Having gather an idea of prospective car brand you need; then draw short horizontal line, at the edge of both end, curve the line in eclipse form such that there would be a space for Car’s wheel/tires

3. Add all the Physical Body Features of the Car
Now, you start adding all the necessary physical body of the car such as – wheel, and rear lights. Parallel lines should be used for car glass position; it should be in form of back/front slash. You can understand this more using a car picture as your guideline.

4. Re-shape/Color your Car
Next, use eraser to reshape the sketched car to your desired shape. Though it’s advisable to correct any error from beginning while you were making a sketch, yet it might be required to re-shape it with eraser for a better look.

Finally, use color paint to decorate your car. Once reached this point, Congratulation! You’ve Sketched a car!
