Steps to Install Graphic Card in your Computer

Graphic card is a piece of hardware installed in a computer motherboard peripheral slot responsible for image display on computer monitor/screen. It’s equally known as “video Card”. The higher the Graphic Card resolution, the higher the proficiency of monitor image displays. Currently, in the market/internet, you can get Graphic Card CD software and install it in your computer for image display efficiency. Such as 8MB, 16MB and lot more, without Graphic card installed in the computer, there will be absolute no image display! Obviously, you need not to bother yourself, or making a payment to someone for your graphic card installation. Install your graphic card through this step below.

Steps to Install Graphic Card in your Computer:

1:
Uninstall Present Graphic Card
To install your new graphic card, you simply uninstall the current graphic card (video card); this should be done to evade any possible interference that might occur during installation process. Then, on your windows desktop, right-click “My Computer”, scroll down and select “properties”, go under Hardware tab, click on “Device Manager”. In the pop-up window, you will see your new graphic card listed among the devices components. Under graphic Adapter, double-click the name of your graphics card to open a properties window for your current card. Having done this, under the “Driver tab”, click the Uninstall button.

2:
Remove Current Damaged Graphic Card
Next step is to turn off your PC, and unplug it from the wall socket. Then, Open the computer case and locate the AGP slot, its brown-plastic slot typically found above the white-plastic PCI slots. You should remember to ground yourself properly by first touching a metal piece of your computer case, and equally wearing an antistatic wrist strap, so as to prevent you from getting shocked and from accidentally damaging your computer components. While replacing a graphics card, you should remember to take this precautions.

3: Installing New Graphic Card.
Next step, take your new graphics card out from the foil wrapper and slide it into your motherboard AGP slot. Then, Press it down firmly with ease until it is securely in place. Note that, your system shouldn’t be powered until you finished your graphic installation process. Then, Screw it back into the computer and close up your computer case.

Next, turn on your computer, insert the graphic card driver through CD ROM drive. If WindowXp is your operating system, the system automatically starts installing the graphic software driver in your computer. Unlike other operating system lower versions, such as Windows 95, 98, or 2000 that would require to be installed through open window installation process. WindowXp/Vista operating system is recommendable for the graphic users and for efficient satisfaction. When the installation ended, sit down and enjoy your graphics images. Congratulation! You’ve done it yourself!
